Aaron Lutz was born in Royal Oak, MI on tax day of 1983 and was raised in Clarkston. At a young age, Aaron was forced to learn piano and take lessons for a few years but he never really enjoyed the instrument. Drums had always interested Aaron but the loud noise they made was not something his parents wanted to hear. On Christmas of 1999 Aaron's parents decided to give him a black Washburn guitar. Soon after, playing guitar consumed his life as he learned many grudge era songs and began writing music. While playing with a few friends from High School, Aaron decided to form the band Stasis which only played a few shows for bars, schools, and graduation parties. Aaron graduated High School from Oakland Christian in 2001 and moved on to college at Grand Valley State University. He met many new musicians like Nate Twa and played in few different bands including Interbeing and Candor. Soon after graduating with a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Aaron and Nate met Kirk Fabbri and Sam Smith through some friends at GVSU and 5 Minutes Late was formed.
