My name is Mitchell Nelson, and I am writing on behalf of myself and a friend of mine. We are not a band. We are not trying to be a band, nor are we by any means trying to become famous or popular. In fact we're just some 16 year olds from Redding, CA who in the past have messed around with instruments and what not but never taken any of it very seriously. Furthermore, we are by no means jealous of your "success". The fact that you think that's why we're angry just shows how stuck-up you are. We simply don't give a fuck. Now let me explain to you I am so pissed off. You already know I hate your music. I find it painful to listen to. But this is no reason to get all mad at you and become outwardly angry, and you and I both understand that. I can also respect your hard work and dedication to what you do, and please note that I never criticized or questioned your work ethic from the start. What I hate, however, is the end result of your hard work. Not the music itself, but the lyrical content and your methods of presentation, especially based on your audience. There's no denying that your fan base is comprised of primarily girls between the ages of about 12-21. I know this based on your comments, picture comments, fans, and the crowd when you played in Marysville, CA on Warped (I know because I happened to walk by after seeing The Devil Wears Prada). So let's take a look at this demographic. It is mainly girls who are either beginning or going through puberty. They're changing physically and mentally in countless ways. They're gaining distance from their parents, they're getting curious about guys, and they're having strange new sexual urges that push them in directions that used to seem unfathomable. This is the age where girls start obsessing over the Jonas Brothers and Twilight and all that underscores their sexual curiosities and presents them with an attractive young male upon which they can bestow their passions and secret feelings. That's how things like the Jonas Brothers and Twilight make money. They exploit these teenage girls' sexual urges. For example, the Jonas Brothers are obviously not the greatest musicians in the world. Their lyrics are by no means very clever, and their music is neither original nor is it very creative. So how do they make money? There are a ton of bands that sound like the Jonas Brothers, yet why is it that they don't get multi-million dollar tours and a massive, unwaivering fan base? It is because the Jonas Brothers are, according to many teenage girls, very hot, cute, sexy, etc. It's the same thing with guys and Megan Fox. Jennifer's Body comes out this Friday, and although it's gotten horrible reviews and is bound to be shitty, it's going to do great in the box office because millions of teenage guys will go to see it purely because Megan Fox is insanely hot. Ha I am actually going to see it Saturday for that exact reason, but the difference between me and most Jonas Brother-worshipping teen girls is that I've come to terms with and am up front about my sexual desires and I am very aware these desires are being exploited. But the fact that I've recognized this is all that matters. Most teenage girls, however, keep this feelings private and are much less comfortable with their sexual desires, so thay often don't even realize when these desires are being exploited. That just comes as a primary difference between guys' and girls' sexual development. In this sense, you guys are like the Jonas Brothers, but worse. Girls think you guys are really hot, which makes them want to listen to your music and buy everything with your faces or "Cash Cash" on it. Not only that, but your lyrics do nothing excite those sexual desires that they keep tucked inside. "There's a party in your bedroom all night long?" Are you fucking kidding me? At least the Jonas Brothers have a little more decency and are a bit less outright about it. Teenage girls cling to the sexual innuendos in your music and attach that imagery to your faces and it creates the perfect money making combination. Quite frankly, you guys are exploiting girls with your music and marketing. We think that is fucked up and that is why we're angry. * Cash C… 9/11/2009 11:04 AM To: Hit The Gym Tiny Tim dude you gotta settle down....why would you let what we're doing upset you so much!! the beauty about life is that if you dont like something you dont have to have it in your life...the fact that we enrage so much anger in you makes me think you should address your own life for a second and really find why your so fucking angry...i used to be an angry prick as well i hated so many bands because i myself couldn't get my band going and i was jealous...when i let all that shit go and actually spent time hustling and gettin my shit together then bamn shit started to happen for us and i didnt give a shit whether some other band i hated was getting popular.... i realized i dont have to have all this hate towards bands or people i dont like because it was a waste of my energy...at least try and find a way to channel it into something positive...as for the personal blows you said to me...you dont even know us...it's one thing to hate our music i hate plenty of bands but i'm actually friends with a lot of them which is the amazing part! but to call us gay and this and that...you just sound like a child. i wont sit here and try and defend myself cause i dont really care what you think at the end of the day..but, if you want something real...i'll give you something real i spent my whole life tryin to make something of myself....instead of partying i chose to sit in my basement and record music...we recorded, produced, and mixed our record in my basement...we hustled the shit out of it and earned every little bit this band has accomplished...you dont have to like what we create at the end of the day...but you should at least respect it for what it is. As for me, I have supported groups such as peta, where i also worked at an animal shelter for 3 years, i'm there for my friends when they need me, i love my family and i treat people with respect. I know i'm a good person and i don't need any1 to tell me differently... back to the music...i was on warped tour this whole summer and thats where i learned this next thing im gonna tell you....hating on bands you dont like is absolutely pointless...if you hate a band great! hate the band but why voice it and ruin your life over it? why let it bring out the negative anger inside of you?? it's pointless...i broed down with screaming hardcorce bands on the tour sum of which i can't stand their music but they are awesome fucking people and have become some of my best friends but ya know what...i fucking respect what they are doing cause at the end of the day...it's the same hustle regardless of what music they play...they are working hard bleeding, sweating, and putting everything they have into something they feel so passionate about the same way we are...so i don't care if you think differently about us from this...but my goal is to make you think differently about the way you carry yourself...being positive always outweights being negative.. jp * Hit Th… Online Now! 9/11/2009 9:53 AM To: Cash Cash (NEW TOUR DATES...
