When i do portraits or such in graphite.. I tend to go really dark. It still looks really good in the outcome.
But as you said.. I do not take my time with anything. I do not have the patience to do so. Also I do not use a shading stick. I cannot stand when people just use a shading stick to draw. I dont think that is drawing really. I am going to post an upside down drawing I had to do for class. It isnt finished because it was at the beginning of the year and I was lazy ass and didnt want to do the hair. When i hated doing hair.
